About Qahwah House – Our 8 Generation Story

For eight generations, the Al-Hasbani family has cultivated coffee on the highlands of Yemen — the birthplace of coffee. Today, Qahwah House continues that legacy with over 30 cafes across the United States, serving 100% organic Arabica beans roasted in small batches to bring you an authentic taste of Yemeni coffee culture.

Our story begins in the misty highlands of Yemen, where the Al-Hasbani family has been growing Arabica coffee since long before it became a global commodity. The unique terroir of Yemen — volcanic soil, high altitude, and a dry climate — produces beans with flavor profiles found nowhere else on earth: rich notes of dried fruit, chocolate, and spice that have captivated coffee lovers for centuries.

When we brought Qahwah House to the United States, our goal was not just to sell coffee but to share an entire culture of hospitality. In Yemen, coffee is served as a gesture of welcome and community. That same spirit lives in every Qahwah House cafe, where guests are treated like family and every cup is prepared with intention and care.

From a single location to over 30 thriving cafes nationwide, our growth reflects the deep connection people feel when they experience authentic Yemeni coffee for the first time. We remain committed to ethical sourcing, direct trade with Yemeni farming families, and sharing the warmth of our heritage through every bean we roast and every drink we serve.
